Out of the 21 stained glass windows in St.Nicholas, 17 were designed and produced by William Morris and his Company.
In particular the three windows in the centre of the apse (click picture left for enlarged interior - file size-113k) are the best example of their work.
The central window depicting St.Nicholas was designed by Sir E Burne-Jones and the two windows either side featuring the Angels were actually designed by William Morris himself.
It's interesting to note that when commissioned in 1892, the background of roses in these windows was requested by the parish to honour the then Rector, Reverend Thomas Chambers and his love of roses.
